New Can Aulí Luxury Retreat, Pollensa
(opening in March 2020)
The new boutique hotel “Can Aulí Luxury Retreat” will open its doors in the centre of Pollensa town in March 2020. This will be the fifth hotel for Palma-based IT Mallorca Unique Spaces Group, and their first hotel outside the city. The Group, known for their stylish conversions of boutique hotels in Palma’s old town that include; Can Cera, Can Alomar, Calatrava and Sant Jaume, has undertaken the complete conversion of a 17th century manor house in the heart of Pollensa’s historic centre.
The hotel, located close to the main square and the ancient Calvari steps, will feature 21 rooms – some with their own private terrace with views of the Sierra Tramuntana. The Can Aulí suite for example, will feature its own large private terrace with views over Pollensa.
Features will include a restaurant/gastro bar serving breakfast and snacks throughout the day, an outdoor swimming pool with bar and garden. With so many excellent local producers nearby, Can Aulí aims to offer guests the best breakfast in town using ecological produce wherever possible together with a range of foods for guests with diet intolerances. The hotel will also follow a sustainable policy and reduce the use of plastics sourcing alternative, recyclable products where possible.
The hotel décor will create a stylish blend of modern rustic using local hand-woven fabrics alongside contemporary pieces to enhance the historic character of the building with its wooden beams, high ceilings, exposed stone walls and elegant arches to create a comfortable home atmosphere with all modern comforts.
Can Aulí makes an ideal base to explore this part of the island and practice various sports from golf to sailing, hiking and cycling (a lock-up facility will be provided for bikes). Port Pollensa is only a 15 minute drive away with wide sandy beaches and the iconic Cap de Formentor can be reached either by car or by boat and is approximately 35 minutes’ drive from Pollensa town.
Says Miguel Conde, owner of IT Mallorca Unique Spaces; “Our objective for Can Aulí is to offer clients an alternative to Palma with the benchmark of quality and service that we have established in our existing hotels. We want to provide another type of experience of authentic Mallorca in one of the island’s most picturesque rural towns that offers a combination of Mediterranean culture and tradition”.
